The China Crystal Chronicles Part 2 : The Warlord and his Wife
Part 2: The Warlord and his Wife
| A fishermen in Stillness, Yang Shuo, China
A couple of days ago I bumped into Hana over at Bangsar Village. An adorable character, Hana is a crystal aficionado and one of our regulars at Lightworks.
“Oi KB, I read about your China crystal trip la!” she enthused, ”And Karen (Dawson) and I have decided we’re coming with you on your next China trip!” Now, I’ve had quite a few people telling me the same thing, and the answer I gave Hana was the same I gave the others.
“Hana, you know, there’s a lot more that happened on that trip that I didn’t write about, and if you knew the whole story,” I assured her, “you’d want to be miles away from us when we make the next journey.”
Hana paused. “That serious huh?” she suddenly turned apprehensive. I guess she could tell I wasn’t kidding.
“Yes Hana. Maybe one day I’ll tell you more about it.” I replied.
The Universe has its way of doing things. If you’re meant to be somewhere or doing something, you will. And if you’re not meant to be, you won’t. It really is that simple. There are no co-incidences, no flukes, no mistakes in Life. Take Lily for example.
She had just left a well-paying and secure job as an editor of an I.D. magazine to pursue ‘light-working’, and of course as with any other person in her shoes, she had her fair share of worries about her financial future.
“If I can afford the plane fare to Guilin, I’d love to come.” She said.
“You can.” I replied. “ ‘Co-incidentally’ AirAsia just started flying there this month. It’s only RM600 for a return ticket, cheaper than flying to Singapore.”
Readers, I know this sounds corny, but with AirAsia: Now everyone can fly! Really.
But the universe didn’t stop there for Lily.
A day before our flight to China, Lily stumbled upon a 10-ringgit note on the floor of a shopping mall, and she proceeded to do something she had never before done in her life: she took the money and put it on Empat Ekor (4-digit lottery). By that evening, she was RM6,000 richer.
“How did you come up with the winning numbers?” I asked her, hoping there was a secret recipe to her success.
She replied: “You know each banknote is printed with its own set of serial numbers? Well, I just used the last four numbers on the 10-ringgit note I found, that’s all.”

Yang Shuo, China
I am going to recount a true, real-life that story happened many, many years ago, centuries ago perhaps, in Yang Shuo, a small picturesque town located about 60 km from the city of Guilin in China.
Bear with me, for all will be evident.
This is a story of a young girl who fell in love with a young soldier. They loved each other pretty much and they got married.
The couple led an idyllic life. Their marriage was a happy one. They had a nice house with a courtyard. They spent much time taking walks in the gardens and beautiful landscapes of Yang Shuo, and all was well in their world.
The Li River, Yang Shuo
The young soldier served his emperor and country well, and he was promoted to a warlord, a great achievement in those days.
What sense of pride she had for her husband. The icing on the cake came when she discovered she was pregnant. It would be their first child. Life could not be more perfect.
However, the joy of a newborn was short-lived. The son died suddenly after a few days from an illness no doctor could heal. Her husband couldn’t even get a glimpse of their son because he was still away at war and she had no way of reaching him. She had sent a letter but it would take weeks to reach him.
She blamed herself for causing his death – why did she ‘give up’ at that slight moment? Was that her son punishing her for giving up on him? If she could have just pushed harder, don’t surrender, fight, fight, fight, would he still be alive? How was she going to face her husband and tell him she had killed the sole heir of their family? Would he ask her to leave the house? Would he abandon her? At that time, sons were the gems of the family. And at that time, as a woman and wife, that was her only responsibility and she failed. She felt she failed him and her entire clan.
She could not let go of her loss. She was inconsolable. Finally when the husband returned, she had a mental breakdown and never recovered. She left her house at that state and no one could find her. She was to spend the rest of her years wandering around the country without ever regaining her mental faculties.
The warlord husband felt responsible for all that had happened. If only he had written - perhaps things would have been better? Feeling utterly helpless at his wife’s condition, he knelt down next to her and wept. He promised her that one day it would be all better again. He promised her that should she ever call for help to heal, he would be there for her. He would make sure of that.
There was another player in this story, namely the brother of the warlord. The brother had promised the warlord that he would look after the wife while the warlord was away. The warlord’s brother had a good relationship with the warlord’s wife, and he too, was devastated at the turn of events. The brother felt that he had failed the warlord and his sister-in-law.
The three players did not know it at that time, but they would return together lifetime after lifetime to help one another resolve the karmic issues they had created in this one lifetime, but it was to prove difficult for the wife. She had buried and suppressed her emotions in her own little Pandora’s box, but Time and the Universe have their own ways of healing everything.

It’s been a while since I rode a bicycle, but Yang Shuo seemed toprovid the perfect backdrop for me to re-acquaint myself with one.
So there we were, our second day in China, with Suzanna, Tristen, Lily and myself, cycling in the countryside amidst magnificent karst limestone outcrops and padi fields, but where was Lily?
I stopped and turned around. There she was quite a distance behind us, looking a forlorn figure as she struggled with her bike.
“What’s wrong with you, Lily?”I asked.
“I don’t know, I’m not sure … I’m fine, I think.” She replied. Her face told a different story. She was struggling, and she looked out of sorts, but I guessed she was just tired, that’s all.
But things were not well with her, and it got worse.
“I can’t explain it, but I’m having all these very intense emotions coming up for me … helplessness, hopelessness, deep sense of loss, I just don’t know where all this is coming from.” She lamented later that evening.
“I’ve had these emotions crop up now and then in the past, and I have tried to find the source for them and to heal them, but it seems that everything has just come on simultaneously, I am just feeling completely overwhelmed by all this and I can’t figure out why this is happening!” she continued.
For the next two days these ‘symptoms’ persisted. It was really a very challenging time for Lily, but the universe never gives you a challenge unless you are ready, or have the means to solve it, and in Lily’s case, divine help came from Suzanna Axisa. There was indeed no co-incidence why Suzanna had joined us on our trip. A channel for the Ascended Master Lanto, Suzanna was given a vision of Lily in one of her past lives.
“The intense emotions you are experiencing were from a past life which you had in this very same town of Yang Shuo.” Suzanna told Lily, “You were the wife of a warlord and you went insane in that lifetime as you were unable to cope with the loss of your newborn child. The warlord was away on a war and he didn’t write you, which aggravated your situation. You could not deal with your loss so you shut off your emotions completely. You ended up spending the rest of your years wandering around literally out of your mind.”
Yes, this is the true story of Lily. She was the wife of the warlord.
“Wow!” I thought to myself. The universe had orchestrated the entire trip for her, To re-open her Pandora's box, she had to be brought back to the exact locale where her unresolved past-life issues would be triggered, and hence giving her yet another opportunity to heal an important aspect of herself.
That was not all. A few days later Lily experienced a near complete recall of that past life, and in that recall she remembered who the warlord’s brother (i.e. her erstwhile brother-in-law) was. In this current lifetime, that person was none other than Tristen.
So Tristen was her brother-in-law. It made sense, I thought. No wonder they got along so well, like brother and sister. They had met barely 4 months ago at a workshop I conducted, but they had really clicked and Tristen had even joined Lily in her pet project, the Soulstudio.
It was evident to me that Tristen had come along on this trip not only to ‘clear’ his part in the saga, but more importantly, he had been a rock of comfort and shoulder-to-cry-on for Lily throughout her ordeal. It was as if this was Tristen’s ‘second chance’.
But the story would not, and could not end here. There was still a missing piece, a final piece to the whole puzzle.
On our last day in Guilin as we were waiting in the hotel lobby for our taxi to the airport, Suzanna came and sat beside me. She looked me straight in the eye and said: “KB, Lily wasn’t sure whether it was appropriate to let you know this but I think you should: YOU were her warlord husband in that lifetime.”

It has been said that Time heals Everything.
It has also been said that when we finish a lifetime and move to the ‘other side’, we get a chance to review everything that happened in that lifetime. It is then that we truly realise the immensity of the play, the beauty and perfection of it all, how every person, thing and circumstance that the universe brought you in every single moment is woven into a perfect tapestry.
The universe is perfection, unfolding perfectly. So is Life.
I have spent much moments marveling at the way the universe brought Tristen, Suzanna, Lily and I together in China for this final episode of a compelling drama that started centuries ago.
The universe had arranged for Lily to meet me in this lifetime, very shortly after she had resolved to heal herself of her hitherto unexplainable emotions of loss, sadness, guilt and hopelessness. We met less than a year ago, and in that time I introduced her to the Seven Rays and shared with her what I knew. I shared with her what I knew of connecting and working with the I Am Presence (Divine Self) and more recently, I taught her the lightbody work.
According to Lily, these spiritual tools were a significant part of her healing process. To me, I have no doubts that it was the Universe’s way of letting me honour the promise that I had made her in that past-life, that l would be there to help her whenever she decided she was ready to heal, and that things were going to be all right.
But this is really Lily’s story. Nobody can heal Lily except Lily, but when she healed herself, a part of me (and Tristen, and the rest of us) healed too. So Lily did come through Big Time this time around, and pretty much on her own, if I may add !!
And Yes, I do believe in fairytale endings. So now, it’s time for me to visit the shopping malls … I am sure a 10-ringgit note is on the floor somewhere waiting for me!
